==Definition and Scope of Fields==

This block contains the information needed to identify the institution, physical site or collection at

which a bibliographic unit is located or from which it may be available.

The following fields are defined:

* [[hold/252|252 Location and Call Number]]

* [[hold/255|255 Past Location and Call Number]]

* [[hold/256|256 Electronic Location and Access]]

==Occurrence==

A holdings record must contain a [[hold/252|field 252]] or a [[hold/256|field 256]] to identify the physical site location that

consists of a combination of an institution identifier and identifiers of one or many of its sub

locations.

Others fields of [[hold/2XX|2-- block]] may be used if necessary.
